Greetings to all. My name is Ciro Omar Casimiro although I prefer to be called Omar. My pronouns are he/him and I'm currently an undergraduate student at the University of Connecticut in Storrs studying business and majoring in finance. My hometown is Scotch Plains, New Jersey and I have lived there my entire life. When explaining my identity I'd say it consists of being a first generation college student in the United States, because both my parents were born in Peru. Along those lines I have Peruvian heritage along with American and Australian citizenship. In my senior year of highschool I passed the NJ Seal of Biliteracy exam to earn my bilingual certification. Here at UConn I am involved in several organizations such as Finance Society, Alpha Sigma Phi and Huskython. In the near future I plan on applying for a business internship to grow my connections and gain hands-on experience in the field I will become a professional in. After graduating from UConn I wish to work for a Masters in Business Administration, then be employed full time in the business workforce. I value taking pride in hard work and dedication, ultimately my goal is to retire both my parents who are my biggest supporters. Furthermore, some previous experience I have with communication and business is employed as a server at Freppes Tex Mex Restaurant and food runner at Plainfield Country Club. These two jobs have shown me some aspects of what it takes to run a business and excel consistently. Lastly, in my free time I enjoy being outdoors, going out with friends, golfing or playing sports, working out and trying new things.
